Where every button is, what it does, and the short path to the edit you came for.
Concat is a video editor that runs entirely on your machine. Download it, open it, drop footage in, cut. No account, no setup. These pages answer the questions people actually ask: where the text-to-speech button is, how to get captions, how to get a clean export out.
Every screenshot is the real app, in its dark theme, on the current release.

Install Concat
Every build is a GitHub Releases asset. The download picker hands you the right one; this page covers what happens after.
ReadYour first edit
From the start screen to an exported file in five steps: new project, import, cut, a title, export.
ReadWhere everything is
A map of the window: the four panes, the title strip, the menus, the tray and what each button on it does.
ReadSystem requirements
Concat runs everything on your machine, so the hardware sets the ceiling.

Captions and voices
Auto-captions
One button transcribes a clip on your machine and puts a title per phrase on the timeline. Where the button is, which model to pick, and how to restyle the result.
ReadText to speech and voice cloning
Type a script, pick a voice, and the read lands on the timeline. Where the button is, which of the three voice models to use, and how to clone a voice from a recording.
ReadRecord a voiceover
Talk over the edit while it plays. The take lands on the timeline where you started.
ReadClean up a voice
Three switches in the Audio tab take the room out of a recording and bring it to a broadcast level. Plus the fun ones: chipmunk, robot, telephone.
ReadThe AI models
Captions, voices, cutout and enhance run on models that download once from Settings and then work offline. What each one is, how big it is, and where it goes.

Titles and text
Add a title, style it with fonts, stroke, shadow and a background plate, style many at once, and make that look the default.
ReadEffects, filters and transitions
The Library pages for looks and effects, and the one thing to know: a single click auditions, a double-click or the plus applies.
ReadRemove a background
Cut a person or an object out of a clip with no green screen, paint the mask yourself when the model gets it wrong, or key a real green screen.
ReadKeyframes
Animate position, scale, rotation, opacity, volume or any effect knob with the diamond next to it, then shape the motion in the Keyframes pane.

Keyboard shortcuts
Every key Concat listens to, on a Mac and on Windows and Linux.
ReadSettings
The gear at the top right. Seven pages: General, Appearance, Transcriber, Speech, Remote, Version, About. What each row does.
ReadConcat on a phone
The Android and iOS app is its own editor, built for a thumb. Where everything moved to.
ReadUpdate Concat
The app updates itself from Settings › Version, and can go back a release too.
ReadReport a problem
Every run writes a log. Settings has the buttons that get it, and your system information, into an issue.
ReadControl Concat from a script
Anything the window can do to a project, a program can do through the API. Here is where that starts.
